Reflection and Thanks

We find it hard to believe how quickly 40 weeks have come and gone. As most mothers can attest, the last several days for Mindy have slowed to a crawl. As November 2 (the official due date) came and went, the attitude somewhat changes from anxious anticipation to "when is this baby going to arrive?"

Thankfully, these additional days have provided additional time to reflect. The author in Lamentations 3:22-24 speaks of the Lord's love and compassion and how His mercy is new every morning and how our Father is so faithful. Our Father has provided abundantly more than we could have ever imagined over the last 40 weeks.

He provided incredible health for Mindy throughout the entire pregnancy. From the first trimester to now, the days and weeks of feeling good have far outweighed the bad days and weeks.

He provided for our marriage in an amazing way. The last 12-18 months have seen us draw closer to one another more than we ever had before.

He provided an outpouring of emotional support for Mindy. He formed a circle of women to support and care for Mindy. From Jessel to Becky to Hayley to Dare to Mindy's co-workers and friends at MBC to the women in our small group, Mindy has felt honored and treasured. We are humbled and thankful to each of these wonderful woman.

He provided an outpouring of material support. We have received countless bags of maternity and baby clothing from Jessel, baby cloths from Becky, and many generous gifts from David and Mindy's family, friends, and co-workers. We even received a crib mattress at the last minute from David's sister. We are truly humbled.

He provided a wonderful small group with whom we could laugh, study God's word, and pray for one another each week. We love each of these folks and will miss them over the next several weeks.
